We all know the benefits of bone broth for us, right???  Well the same applies to our four legged family members!

After carving the delicious turkey meat for your Thanksgiving dinner, take the carcass and throw it into the crock pot and use the recipe below!  If you don’t have time the rest of the year, there are companies who make bone broth powders for you and you just add water.

Bone broth is rich in minerals that support the immune system and contains healing properties as well!  Use it as treatment or preventive medicine as part of your daily routine for you and your pets!

Bone Broth Crock Pot Method

 Meaty bones (TURKEY CARCASS!!!!) =

Carrots – 2-3 chopped into 1” pieces

Celery – 2-3 stalks chopped into 1” pieces

Parsnips – 1 chopped into cubes

Garlic – 1/8 tsp

1/3 cup organic apple cider vinegar

Cover with SPRING WATER

½ Tblsp Turmeric

1 tsp grated Ginger

*optional – ½ Tblsp black peppercorns (warming)

Heat on LOW in crockpot for 24-48 hours.

Remove meat off bones after 6-8 hours.

***In last hour of cooking add 1 tsp of parsley and cilantro

Bones can be cooked longer (may take 48 hours and continuous addition of water) so that you can cut through them with a fork like butter.  Blend bones with enough broth (or more water) to make slurry, then stir back into rest of broth.

Can freeze for later use.
