Puppy and Kitten Wellness Care

Do you have a new puppy or kitten? Congratulations on your new addition to the family. One of the first things you should do when you bring your new pet home is to introduce him or her to us- your veterinary care team. Puppy and kitten visits offer a unique opportunity to get you and your new pet off on the right foot. When you make your appointment for that important first exam, we will ask you to bring a few things with you. One thing is any previous health records. We will determine what your pet is due for and when by these records. We will also assess your pet’s disease risk. By involving you of your options, you and your doctor can determine what to vaccinate for and when. Next, we will ask you to bring in a stool specimen with you. Parasites are common in puppies and kittens and early detection and treatment is essential to their overall health. Once you’re here for the exam, your puppy or kitten visit will include a full “nose-to-tail” physical examination. We will look for any signs of illness and make sure that your new pet is in good health. We welcome any questions you may have. From nutrition, training, vaccinations, grooming, parasite protection, we are here for you. If you have any questions about introducing your new pet to the existing pets in the family, when to spay or neuter your pet, when should you microchip your pet, we can help you with this too. We want to assure that your pet has the best experience and best medical attention possible. The earlier the better.
