Cat Friendly Entrance
State Line Animal Hospital offers a separate entrance and facility for our feline patients to help keep them as calm as possible. It can be stressful enough to take a cat to the vet, especially when the space is shared with other animals, such as dogs. If a cat is not used to being around dogs, or the noise and smells they bring with them, it can make for a very traumatic visit for both you and your cat. Because cats hide illness extremely well, their annual visit for their wellness exam or updating vaccines is essential to their overall health.
It is believed that cats may outnumber dogs as far as pets, yet they are brought in to the veterinarian less than half as often as their canine counterparts. One reason for lack of veterinary care could be that owners of indoor cats assume because their kitties never leave the house, they aren’t exposed to potential health hazards the way dogs are. While there’s some truth to that theory, even indoor cats need regular wellness exams to help them stay healthy.
Our feline facility is located just adjacent from the main hospital. It’s a quiet, peaceful and very cat friendly area where your cat can explore and feel at home. We offer a feline-only examination room that provides a safe, non-threatening area where cats can be examined calmly and effectively. We have experience to recognize subtle, early signs of fear or anxiety and adapt appropriately.
You can even check out in the exam room. All to make your visit with your cat as stress free as possible.
